Candles 101

CANDLES 101

So you LOVE Candles...but don't know a thing about wax or wicks! Let me help you out with a quick Candles 101 course!

Wicks 101:
  • Trim your wicks to 1/4" every time before you light your candles.
  • All of our wicks are 100% Lead Free!
  • An E-Wick is an Elemental Wick made from 100% Cedar wood. It crackles while it burns.
  • Break off the burnt pieces of your E-Wick every time before you re-light your candles.
Votives 101:
  • Votives burn for approximately 20+ hours.
  • Burn your votives in a SNUG votive glass. If your container is not snug on the votive, place it in a clear votive glass and place the cup inside the container.
  • Trim your votive wicks just like any other candle.
Jar Candles 101:
  • All our glass jar containers are manufactured right here in the USA!
  • We sell over 7 styles of Jar candles.
  • They are all made of natural wax blends.
Pillar Candles 101:
  • We sell pillars over 8 different sizes.
  • Burn your pillars 1 hour for every inch in diameter to get the best burn possible. (Ex: Burn a 3 inch pillar for 3 hours at a time)
  • Burn regular pillars down to 1/4".
  • Burn your pillars on a pillar holder or plate, do not place them directly on counter or surface of furniture.
  • Hug your pillar candles after extinguishing to help them keep their decorative shape.
Wax Meltables 101:
  • Our wax meltables will liquefy in about 10 minutes when they are placed in a Wax Warmer.
  • Dial up or dial down the fragrance by increasing the number of wax squares you put in your warmer. More wax = more fragrance.
  • Use your meltables until you can't smell the fragrance anymore.
  • To empty out a used meltable put your room temperature Wax Warmer in your freezer for about 5 minutes. The wax should pop right out when it gets cold. You might have to use a butter knife to wedge it out.
Tealights 101:
  • We sell 3 different sized tealights; standard and large.
  • Use your tealights to illumiate your house. Since tealights are self contained you can put them just about anywhere!
  • Use tealights with our Wax Hurricanes to create a soft glow.
